PetFlow is happy to be able to provide our pet parents with a variety of options for feeding their pets, including prescription diet foods. All prescription foods require a valid prescription from your veterinarian and will not be shipped until our pharmacy partner is able to confirm that valid prescription. Not to worry though, our team is here to make this process as easy as possible. We wanted to share some more information on prescription foods specifically for Royal Canin Veterinary Diet, as our Royal Canin Veterinary Diet supplier is experiencing supply challenges and there may be delays to your order shipping.
Obtaining a Valid Prescription
You can shop on PetFlow.com for prescription products and add to your cart just like any other product available. When you’re ready to check out, you will be asked to enter information for your vet and pet within our pharmacy partner portal.
- Your vet must have a physical office within the 50 United States
- There must be a valid client-patient relationship
- Your pet must be up to date on all exams
Our pharmacy partner works directly with most clinics unless the clinic has specifically requested to not be contacted regarding online orders. They will reach out to confirm the prescription with your vet via fax or through an online portal that is shared with your clinic. If your vet has chosen to not work with online pharmacies, a valid original prescription must be mailed in to the address below:
VetSource Home Delivery Pharmacy
Attn: Pharmacy Triage
17014 NE Sandy Blvd
Portland, OR, 97230
Please note that we are unable to accept photocopies of prescriptions. Once the prescription is approved, your order will be sent for fulfillment.
Refills & Prescription Expiration Dates
Once your prescription is approved, we are able to keep valid refills on file for up to one year. Prescription refills are stored within your account as they were written, and are not able to be altered. If there is a change in your prescription, we will need to obtain an updated prescription from your vet.
Shipping Information
Due to the regulation of prescription foods, all orders for Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ship directly from their fulfillment centers. Your prescription food order will be sent immediately for fulfillment once the prescription has been approved. At that time, PetFlow is unable to make any edits to the food, shipping address, billing information and/or cancel the order.
Generally, orders will be shipped within 1 business day of receiving the prescription approval and you will receive tracking information via email once the order has shipped. Shipping times are normally 1-3 business days.
Out of Stocks
If you’ve checked out with a Royal Canin Veterinary diet on PetFlow, it means that no supply issues have been communicated to us that would lead us to turn the product to an “out-of-stock” status.
Once your order is sent to the fulfillment center for Royal Canin Veterinary Diets after your prescription has been verified, your food may be out of stock. In this case, they will hold your order for a few days while they wait on more inventory. If there are longer-term challenges with getting inventory on your prescription food, they will cancel your order and notify us, so that we can notify you. You will not be charged for any cancelled orders.
